In a relieving move, oil companies reduced the price of the Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 91.5 on September 1.
The 19-kg cylinder is now available in the national capital Delhi for 1,885, down from its earlier price of 1,976.50 published on August 1.

- The price of a commercial cylinder in Kolkata has dropped from Rs 2,095.50 to Rs 1,995.50.
- In Mumbai, the LPG cylinder would cost Rs 1,844 rather than Rs 1,936.50.
- In Chennai, it will cost Rs 2,045 rather than Rs 2,141.
This is the fifth consecutive price cut for commercial cylinders in as many months. On August 1, it was reduced by Rs 36.
The rates of domestic LPG cylinders used in households, on the other hand, have not changed after a 50 increase on July 6.
From August 26, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has limited refills to one per 15 days, and other retailers Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) are likely to follow suit.
It needs to be noted that several new and altered rules come into effect on the first of every month, including revisions to LPG and fuel rates.
Prices for LPG gas cylinders, like those for petrol and diesel are set by state-owned oil marketing firms. The government offers consumers a subsidy on subsidised home LPG cylinders.
