Assam: 400 Kg Cannabis Seized In Nagaon District, 1 Held
Guwahati: Assam police along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday seized 400 kg of cannabis (ganja) and arrested one person in the Nagaon district.
The arrested person has been identified as Hasan Ali, a resident of Samadarpatti.
Based on specific information, a joint operation of district police and CRPF launched an operation at Nagaon town and seized the ganja from a house owned by Hasan Ali who is the kingpin of ganja distribution in the district.
According to officials, the contraband was brought from Dimapur in Nagaland and distributed it in the district.
On Thursday, in the Karimganj district, the Assam Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 131 grams of heroin and three packets of Yaba tablets weighing about 66 grams worth Rs. 12 lakh.
The two arrested persons were identified as Ahmedur Rahman and Kazi Alauddin.
Meanwhile, police also seized the four-wheeler vehicle.
In the previous month, the Assam Police had seized 92.550 kg of ganja and arrested one person at Mahtali Gaon in Bajali.
The arrested person has been identified as Koilash Das.
