Assam: Nagaon Police busts fake currency racket in Guwahati, recovers over 20 lakh fake notes
Guwahati: Assam Police busted a fake currency racket and arrested four people including a woman in this connection in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The arrest has been made by the Nagaon police.
Based on specific information, a police team from Nagaon conducted raids in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area, resulting in the recovery of fake currency notes amounting to Rs 20 lakhs along with printing machines.
The four arrested people have been identified as Mofizul Islam, Saddiqul Islam, Saddiqul Islam, and Rima Baishya.
In another incident, on Monday, the police team busted another fake notes racket in the Lengripara area in Mangaldoi, in the Darrang district.
During the raid, police recovered fake Indian currency notes and arrested six people including three women.
The arrested persons were identified as Anwar Hussain, Zaman Hussain, Syed Hussain, Rijuma Hussain, Joba Das and Priya Rai.
