The Axis Bank deputy manager in Assam’s Guwahati has been held on suspicion of fraud yesterday.
According to reports, the bank manager identified as Iftikon Haque Choudhury was held for allegedly using ATM card passwords of clients to steal money from their bank accounts.
He was arrested by the Geetanagar Police based on consumer complaints.
He allegedly used ATM cards issued in the names of customers.

Iftikon had already depleted Rs 1.75 lakh from various ATM cards.
Meanwhile, Iftikon has admitted to all of the charges levelled against him and is currently being questioned by police.
At the time of the incident, Iftikon was working at the HDFC bank branch on Zoo Road.
