Tensions were high in Manipur’s Imphal today after a bomb suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was discovered from outside a local BJP office at Ward no 16 of the Singjamei Assembly Constituency.
The suspected IED was weighing around 4kg.
Soon after the police arrived and investigated the situation, a bomb disposal unit was called in.
The IED was later securely defused by a Manipur police bomb disposal squad.

Following the incident, the entire area was cordoned off, and vehicles were prohibited from entering or exiting the area to guarantee people’s safety.
While no militant outfit has claimed responsibility,
According to Manipur police, it is still unknown who planted the bomb.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
