Uttar Pradesh: Infant dies after mobile phone explodes in Bareilly
In a tragic incident, an eight-month-old infant died in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday after the battery of a mobile phone that was kept in charge next to her exploded.
The mother of the deceased had kept her baby named Neha on the cot when she went out to wash the clothes.
The Lava mobile phone burst into flames, after becoming overheated while being charged.
Hearing the noises and cries of the baby, her mother rushed to her, but by the time she reached the infant’s hands and back were fully burned.

The baby was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Later she succumbed to her injury in the hospital during the treatment.
The infant’s father said that they had brought the solar panels for lighting and charging the mobile phones.

So far, the parents have not filed any formal complaints.
They have also not sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
