Assam: Over 40 students fall sick after eating midday meal in Boko

Guwahati: At least 41 students of ME English Medium School in Assam’s Kamrup district fell ill after reportedly consuming the food served under mid-day meal (MDM) in the school on Wednesday.

The unfortunate incident was reported in the Puthimari area in Boko.

According to sources, after eating a meal, the students complained about stomach aches and vomiting. 

Meanwhile, all the ill students were immediately rushed to the Boko Block Primary Health Centre.

On September 8, around 16 laborers fell ill due to suspected food poisoning after consuming food organized by their contractor in a hotel in Madhupur village in Biswanath district.

As per sources, it is alleged that the food was distributed in buckets that were used for storing chemical fertilizers.
