Rakhu Das, the president of the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress, was attacked on Tuesday evening during a political gathering held in the Bishramganj neighbourhood of the Sepahijala district.
According to Northeast Now report, Das alleged that their meeting venue at Bishramganja had been besieged by a group of BJP-backed miscreants. The attacks have also injured Moumita Kali, a prominent leader from Delhi.
The BJP workers who went on a rampage in the area damaged Das’ vehicle besides other vehicles , Das said.

He also alleged that despite repeated attempts, the Police did not make enough efforts to free the Congress workers who were trapped in the building.
As per reports, BJP and Congress fought before the Congress party held a protest.
To ease the tension, large police and TSR trooper contingents were deployed in the market.
