Anoop, an auto driver from Sreevaraham in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram has won the highest prize money of Rs 25 crores in this year’s Onam bumper lottery on Saturday.
This year’s Onam bumper prize is the highest in Kerala lottery history, with 25 crore rupees and 5 crores for the second prize, and 1 crore each for 10 people as the third prize.
Anoop had purchased the lucky ticket from Bhagavathy Agency. His ticket number is TJ-750605.
After taxes, Anoop will receive 15 crores 75 lakh rupees.
The lottery agent who sold the ticket, Thankaraj, will also receive a commission.
Anoop, who works as an autorickshaw driver, is overjoyed.
Earlier, he worked as a cook in a hotel and planned to relocate to Malaysia to work as a chef.
He applied for a loan at the bank, and his application was approved.
Onam began with Atham on August 30 and ended with Thiruvonam.
Thiruvonam celebrates the culmination of the Onam festival.
