Madhya Pradesh CM orders Rs 1 cr assistance to kin of soldier killed in terror attack in Tripura
Guwahati: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister on Monday directed state officials to provide assistance of Rs one crore to the family of Border Security Force soldier Girjesh Kumar Udde, who was killed in a terror attack in Tripura last month.
According to officials, CM and Union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste visited Udde’s residence and met his family members at the latter’s native village Chargaon in MP’s Mandla district on Sunday and described them as true patriots
On August 19, Udde was attacked by terrorists while on patrol with the 145th battalion of the BSF, suffering severe injuries.
Later he died when he was taken in a chopper to Agartala.
On Sunday, CM Chouhan met the soldier’s family members including his wife Radha Devi.
Meanwhile, CM assured to provide a government job to one of the family members.
He gave the Mandla Collector Harshika Singh the instruction to begin the process of providing the family of the martyred soldier with help in the amount of Rs. one crore.
CM also stated that a government excellence school at Bijadandi in Mandla will be named after the soldier.
He further added that the statue of the martyred soldier will be installed in Chargaon.
