APDCL Opens a Helpline No To Address Electricity Bill Queries
Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) today released helpline numbers for customers to register complaints in an effort to address the issue of rising monthly electricity bills in the state.
The APDCL informed customers that they can register their complaints by calling the number 1912.
Additionally, they can register their complaints about rising monthly dues via WhatsApp on the number 7575999666.
The power company also assured that any complaints registered on the helpline numbers would be resolved quickly.
They stated that the bill would be amended after the complaints were investigated.
It may be mentioned that Assam has been experiencing widespread public outrage over high electricity costs for nearly a week.
The increase occurred despite the fact that APDCL had not recently increased the power tariff.
On September 16, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that there had been no increase in power prices and that the higher bills were due to malfunctioning metres.
He said that he directed APDCL immediate instructions to repair the malfunctioning smart metres and respond to public complaints.
