Assam: VP Dhankhar arrives on day-long visit to attend Lokmanthan-2022 in Guwahati
Guwahati: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar arrived in Guwahati on a day-long visit to inaugurate a cultural event on Thursday.
He is scheduled to inaugurate the folk festival “Lokmanthan-2022,” which is being held at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra and is being organised by the cultural organisation Prajna Pravah.
Governor Jagadish Mukhi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also be present on the occasion.
However, Sarma along with Prof Jagdish Mukhi welcomed VP Jagdeep Dhankhar with warm greetings.
Taking to Twitter, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Honoured to welcome Adarniya Vice President Shri @jdhankhar1 ji, along with Hon Governor Prof @jagdishmukhi ji, at LGBI Airport. Hon VP will address #Lokmanthan, an intellectual discourse to promote Indian ethos, at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.”
“Glad to accompany Adarniya Vice-president Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar ji along with Hon’ble Governor Prof @jagdishmukhi ji to Narangi Military Station, Guwahati. The Hon’ble VP was warmly received at the Military Station & accorded a Guard of Honour”, Sarma added in another tweet.
Meanwhile, Dhankhar will spend the afternoon at the Raj Bhavan.
Therefore, he is also slated to visit the Kamakhya Temple, atop the Nilachal Hills, before leaving for New Delhi, the officials added.
