The Manas National Park will reopen to visitors on October 2, 2022 , said Director Vaibhab C Mathur.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site was closed on June 5 due to the monsoon but will reopen on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Kaziranga National Park on Monday announced that it will reopen to tourists on October 2.
MK Yadav, the warden of the Assam Forest Department’s Wildlife Branch, stated this.
In response to the Assam Chief Minister’s ride with Sadhguru after the park’s slated time, Yadav stated that there is no restriction on the Chief Minister entering the park after the park’s slated time.
Notably, two individuals filed a police complaint against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Sadhguru, and state tourism minister Jayanta Malla Baruah on Saturday, claiming they violated the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 by entering the national park beyond the scheduled visit time.
However, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there is no violation. According to wildlife law, the warden can give permission to enter a protected area even at night.
