In a major drug haul, the Cachar Police yesterday seized contraband worth Rs 200 crore.
There were 4 lakh Yaba tablets concealed within a vehicle’s secret space.
The drugs were taken in the passenger car (Tata Sumo) travelling from Mizoram to Guwahati in Silchar.
The accused were planning to sell the drugs in Guwahati.
Six people in total, including the vehicle’s driver and handyman, have been arrested by the police in connection with the seizure.
It is noteworthy that this was the third drug seizure of the day yesterday.
Earlier in the day, Guwahati police arrested a lady for allegedly trafficking cannabis and confiscated massive amounts of the illegal drug.
Ganja weighing 40 kg was also seized at Kamakhya Junction Railway Station.
