Assam: Miscreants throw acid on man in Baksa district

Guwahati: A group of miscreants threw acid on a man in Assam’s Baksa district, the official said on Thursday.

According to sources, the incident took place at Goreswar of the district, when the victim was returning home from work, sources added

 The victim was identified as Manik Debnath, a resident of Bokulguri in Goreswar.

As per the official, a group of four miscreants threw the acid and were identified as Bipin Rajbongshi, Deven Rajbongshi, Kanak Rajbongshi, and Pinku Biswas.

Following the incident, Debnath sustained burn injuries from the attack and was rushed to a village hospital.

Meanwhile, Debnath has been shifted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he is currently receiving treatment.

The official suspected that a family dispute might be the reason behind the attack.
