Badruddin Ajmal, the chief of the AIUDF, has alleged that the entire incident of the boat capsizes in Assam’s Dhubri district was a “conspiracy” to “eliminate” a sincere officer.

It may be mentioned that all 28 passengers who went missing in the boat accident in the Brahmaputra River on September 29 have been rescued, barring Sanju Das, circle officer.

Sanju is still missing, meanwhile, search and rescue operations are still ongoing to locate Sanju.

After visiting the spot, Ajmal said, “We demand that the investigators look into the possibility that the entire incident was a plot to remove an honest officer.”

“We hope Das makes it through the boat capsize and recovers.
However, if the circle officer is not located, his family must be compensated, and his kin should be given government employment, he added.

The incident happened when a boat carrying 29 passengers lost control in the Brahmaputra due to the strong currents.

Later, SDRF teams rushed to the scene and rescued 28 people.
