A man from Bihar was arrested today in Guwahati’s downtown area on suspicion of possessing a piece of “fake gold.”
Police said that the arrest was conducted as a result of confidential information that East Guwahati Police obtained from a trustworthy source.
The arrested individual has been identified as Shyam Kumar, a resident of the Bihar district of Madhubani.
A case was filed in the meantime against the suspect Shyam Kumar.
In addition, a hammer, a chisel, and one mobile phone were found in his possession by police. “The investigation of the case is underway”, police officials said.
