Assam: Carcass of wild elephant found in Goalpara
Guwahati: A carcass of a wild elephant was found by locals in Assam’s Goalpara district on Friday.
Locals had discovered the body at a field at Kankata near Rangjuli in the district.
As per the source, it is suspected that the elephant come out of the wild in quest of food, yet the exact cause of death is unknown.
However, despite being informed, forest department officials have not yet arrived to the scene.
Last month too, in a similar incident, the carcass of a wild elephant was recovered from a river at Numaligarh in Golaghat district. The jumbo was first spotted by locals in the Doigrung river, after which they informed forest officials.
