Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will lay the foundation stone of Morigaon Medical College and the construction of a bridge at Jagi Bhakat Gaon in November, said state Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika today on the occasion of ‘Morigaon District Divas’ in the district.
Minister Hazarika said, “in terms of road development, the Morigaon district is currently on par with the developed areas of the state.”
He added, “About Rs 439 crore of the Rs 3,700 crore loan from the Asian Development Bank sanctioned by the Water Resources Department will be spent on erosion management in Morigaon district.
‘Morigaon District Divas’ is being held for two days. The event started on October 14 and concluded today in the district.
Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was the chief guest in the event while Minster Pijush Hazarika has been invited as the Guest of Honour.
