Assam: Officer-in-charge, sub-inspector suspended for assaulting 10 civilians in Moran
Guwahati: The Moran Police Station’s officer-in-charge and sub-inspector have been suspended with immediate effect in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on Sunday.
The suspended officials were identified as Bijay Doimary (OC) and Bhaben Dutta (Sub-inspector).
The suspension order has been issued by Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Shwetank Mishra.
The duo has been suspended for their alleged assaulting at least ten youths inside the lock-up that they had to admit to hospital.
However, the youths were accused of assaulting the wife of the officer-in-charge.
Earlier, on October 9, both officials were closed to the police reserve as part of disciplinary action.
