Assam: Two killed in Laluk as car plunges into pond

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a car plunged into a roadside pond at Laluk in Assam’s North Lakhimpur district, killing two men on Sunday.

As per sources, the accident took place when the speed vehicle lost its control and fell into the pond. However, it is suspected that the youths may have drowned as they were unable to exit the car in time, sources added.

The sources further added that the duo was on the way to Tezpur in the Sonipur district from Laluk.

Three additional people were injured in the accident, but the exact cause has not yet been determined.

The deceased have been identified as Anarul Islam and Noor Mohammad. 

The locals were able to pull out the vehicle from the pond and recovered the bodies. 

Meanwhile, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
