Assam: District admin issues prohibitory orders of using bursting firecrackers on Diwali in Tinsukia

Guwahati: Tinsukia district administration issued prohibitory orders on Wednesday regarding the manufacture/sale or use of firecrackers in the state. The directions were issued by Pollution Control Board.

AS per order, manufacture, sale or use of firecrackers generating noise level exceeding 125 dB (AI) or 145 dB (C)pk at 4 meters distance from the point of bursting.

“Use of fireworks and firecrackers in between 10.00 PM and 06.00 AM and directed to use of firecrackers within 100 meters from hospitals, educational institutions, courts, religious places,” order said.

As per order, bursting of firecrackers in a public place or public roads and declared silence zone areas etc.

However, sale and use of fireworks in and around the restricted areas of Digboi Refinery and IOC (AOD) installation, Tinsukia, Petrol Pumps etc within the district, officials added.

“Manufacture, sale or use of fireworks and firecrackers etc within 1 KM area of Digboi Refinery, New Tank Farm (NTE) & LPG Dispatch Unit (LDU), LPG Bottling Plant, Gopanari and Digboi Marketing Terminal, Golai etc”, officially stated.

The order will come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders. Anybody found violating this order shall be prosecuted U/S 188 IPC and under other relevant provisions of law.
