A constable was suspended following the death of an inmate while in detention at the Jogighopa Police Station in Assam on Wednesday.
The incident reportedly happened near Jogighopa in Assam’s Bongaigaon district.
The decision came after one of the inmates in police custody died by suicide.
Constable Makimul Haque Patgiri was in charge of patrolling the police station at the time.
