Nipon Goswami,a veteran Assamese actor who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Guwahati passed away today. He was 75.
On October 24, he was admitted to the hospital due to heart-related issues.
One of the most well-known actors in the region, Nipon Goswami has made a lot of contributions to the Assamese cinema and television industries.
In the 1957 Assamese feature film “Pioli Phukan,” directed by Phani Sarma, he made his acting debut as a young actor. He was born in Tezpur.
Additionally, Goswami appeared in a number of Assamese movies, including Shiraj, Aparupa, Deutar Biya, Priya O Priya, Bohagor Duporiya, Ghar Khankar, Kokadeutar Ghar Jowai,Sandhyaraag etc.
