Assam: 23 Cattle Heads Rescued In Nagaon
Guwahati: At least 23 cattle heads were rescued by Assam police in the Nagaon district on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Assam police intercepted the vehicle at the Hatipara area and found the cattle in the vehicle.
As per officials, the truck’s driver and another passenger managed to flee the scene, and a search has been started to find them.
According to sources, it is learned that the cattle heads were being smuggled to Bangladesh before being intercepted by police.
On Wednesday, as many as 41 cattle heads were rescued in the Golaghat district by Assam police.
They were rescued from a container truck that had been stopped in Bokakhat on its way to Nagaon’s Samuguri.
