Assam: 4 Persons Die, 1 Injured While Cleaning Well in Hailakandi

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, at least four persons died and one was seriously injured while cleaning a household well in Assam’s Hailakandi district on Saturday.

The incident took place at Algapur when the workers were trying to clean the well of a person.

The deceased have been identified as Rashid Ahmed, Najim Uddin, Abu Chuhel, and Taslib Uddin, while the injured person was Sohid Ahmed.

Meanwhile, Sohid was immediately taken to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for treatment.

As per sources, one person accidentally fell into the well all of a sudden. Three other people fell into it as they were attempting to save him one after the other.

The bodies of the deceased have been recovered by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
