Assam Police Officer Suspended For Negligence To Duty

Guwahati: The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kakotibari Police Station on Sunday was suspended with immediate effect in Charaideo district in Assam.

The officer was suspended following allegations of negligence while on duty, sources said.

The accused police officer has been identified as Sarath Saikia.

As per sources, it has come to light that a group of miscreants attacked a female student at Japidhara.

Police arrived at the scene of the incident quite late, despite repeated requests for assistance, sources added.

However, the OC of the police station was suspended as allegations of negligence were leveled against him.
