Tripura: Seven Rohingyas including three women held in Dhalai
Guwahati: At least seven Rohingyas including three women were detained in Tripura, officials said on Friday.
As per officials, the Rohingyas fled from their camps in Bangladesh and entered to India illegally through Tripura’s Sonamura, India-Bangladesh border.
The Rohingyas tried to go to Assam by car, officials stated.
On Thursday, during a routine check, police arrested them at Ambassa in the Dhalai district on Thursday night and produced them in a local court on Friday, officials added.
Those arrested have been identified as Md Ekbal Hussain (60), Abdul Gafur (30), Azim Ullah (22), Md Jahangir Alam (20), Jannat Ara (21), Sadiya Begam (19), and Dilbahar Begam (45).
