Assam: Fire destroys property worth lakhs in Jagiroad, short-circuit suspected
Guwahati: One house has been reduced to ashes and property worth lakh of rupees was destroyed after a devastating fire broke out in Assam’s Morigaon district on Sunday.
The incident took place at Pachim Nagaon near Jagiroad.
According to sources, the fire is suspected to have erupted due to an electrical short-circuit.
The residence of one person, identified as Ikramul Haque was entirely gutted in the fire, sources added.
However, Haque’s four-wheeler vehicle, which was kept in the garage, burnt down in the fire and an LPG cylinder inside the house also exploded
The severe fire has destroyed properties worth lakhs of rupees including all important documents.
Though there was no report of human casualties.
