All schools and educational institutions in Diphu, Assam’s Karbi Anglong district, are to remain closed this week owing to rising cases of Dengue.
Due to the dengue outbreak in the town, an order has been passed to keep the schools and institutions in Diphu, Karbi Anglong district, Assam, closed this week.
Around 270 dengue cases have been found in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam over the past five days, according to an order released on Sunday.
To combat the “impending epidemic,” preventive measures have been put in place.
From Monday till Saturday, all educational institutions in Assam’s Diphu Municipal Board and Greater Diphu Town will be closed.
Karbi Anglong had at least 271 of the 285 dengue cases detected in Assam between November 1 and November 5 that were reported to National Health Mission (NHM).
“The situation in Karbi Anglong is under close watch and all preventive measures are being taken to combat the situation,” the NHM statement said.
