Assam is experiencing an increase in dengue cases, with Karbi Anglong being by far the worst-affected district in the state, according to government data.

Data from Assam’s National Health Mission (NHM) revealed that between November 1 and November 7, the state recorded a total of 427 positive cases of dengue.

Out of the total number of cases, 400 were reported in Karbi Anglong alone.

Additionally, positive dengue cases were reported in 14 districts of Assam.
The Kamrup (Metropolitan) district has received reports of up to 11 positive dengue cases.

Apart from that, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Dima Hasao and Karimganj reported two cases each.

In addition, each of the remaining eight districts–Udalguri, Tinsukia, Nagaon, Hojai, Dibrugarh, Kamrup (Rural), Darrang, and Dibrugarh reported one dengue case.

Due to the increased number of dengue cases in the area, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) earlier on Sunday declared that schools in Diphu would be closed for five days this month.
