Duronto Express catches fire in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor….

A fire broke out in a bogie of the Bengaluru-Howrah Express train Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor on Sunday. Local police was rushed to the spot to rescue passengers while fire-fighting operations were underway.

According to reports, a coach of the Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal-Howrah Duronto Express caught fire while approaching Kuppam Station in the Chittoor District (Bengaluru Division/SWR). The train was going from Bengaluru to Kolkata.

As soon as the incident was reported to the police, it rushed its personnel to rescue passengers travelling in the coach. No casualties have been reported so far while the fire is still being douses.

In an official statement, the Indian Railways confirmed that the coach suffered break binding and smoke started coming from the coach due to friction of the brake block.
