Guntur:In Andhra Pradesh, the sale of donkey meat has started increasing overnight. In just two months, 800 kg of donkey meat has been seized from three districts of Andhra Pradesh. At least 100 more donkeys have been rescued from slaughterhouses in the three districts.According to police sources, the demand for donkey meat has been on the rise for quite some time in the three districts of Guntur, Bapatala and Prakasam. The police of these three districts have been conducting continuous searches since October 1. They also recovered a lot of chopped meat. In Guntur district alone, more than 500 kg of meat has been recovered in the last two months. According to police sources, there is a huge demand for donkey meat in the area. The price is equal to mutton. So in the hope of making extra profits, some unscrupulous meat traders buy donkeys from Maharashtra and Karnataka and sell them to slaughterhouses in the area.In fact, there is a misconception behind it.
It is believed that it does not have a pair as a medicine for respiratory diseases like asthma. At the same time, any kind of pain relief is also done by playing donkey meat. Naturally, the Andhra Pradesh government has been trying to stop the sale of donkey meat. Investigations have revealed that districts like Prakasam, Krishna, West Godavari and Guntur have the highest demand for this meat. According to the police, the sale of donkey meat is not only unhealthy but also illegal. Especially the way donkeys are being cut in an unhealthy environment, eating this meat is more likely to get sick. That’s why the police have launched a search operation.
