Earthquake near Puri under the Bay of Bengal! Large parts of Bangladesh shook

New Delhi:The earthquake was felt in the Bay of Bengal on Monday morning. The earthquake occurred in the Bay of Bengal at 8:32 am. The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.2 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the tremor was felt 10 kilometers below sea level.According to ncs sources, the epicentre of the earthquake was 421 km and 434 km away from Puri (east) and Bhubaneswar (east-southeast), respectively.

According to the Dhaka Tribune, the tremors were felt in Dhaka and a large area of Bangladesh as a result of the earthquake at around 9:05 am.The epicentre of the earthquake was 529 km southwest of Dhaka, 340 km southwest of Cox’s Bazar and 397 km southwest of Chittagong.An official of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department told the Bangla Tribune that the epicentre of the earthquake was southwest of the Bay of Bengal.

India is close to one.However, there were no reports of strong tidal waves due to the earthquake. There was no damage to the coastal areas, the sources said.The NCS has not yet said whether the earthquake could lead to a tsunami.
