New Delhi: Mandas has turned into a severe cyclonic storm. On Wednesday, the strength of the depression formed in the Bay of Bengal increased manifold. On Thursday, it became a severe cyclonic storm by increasing its capacity further. Under its influence, there will be rain with lightning in the southern part of the country, according to the Meteorological Department. But it will not affect the weather of the state in that way.
However, the sky will be partly cloudy. The cold winds of the north-west will blow. As a result, the night temperature will increase. But the day temperature may drop slightly. Although there is a cloudy sky, there is no possibility of rain.Friday is the coldest day in Kolkata. The minimum temperature in the morning was 15.6 degrees Celsius. Earlier, the mercury dropped to 15.9 degrees Celsius. However, the weather will change from Saturday. The winter season will decrease. The situation will remain the same till Monday-Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Mandas is currently located in the southwest Bay of Bengal. It has turned into a strong cyclone. Near the coast, it will lose strength and become a normal cyclone again. It is very likely to hit the Mahabalipuram coast between Puducherry and Sriharikota in Tamil Nadu at midnight on Friday or saturday morning. At that time its speed will be a maximum of 85 kilometers per hour.
