New Delhi:.A court has sentenced a man to death for raping and murdering a girl. A Mathura court has sentenced a man to death for raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl. The trial was completed within 57 days of the crime.
Judge Bipin Kumar sentenced 30-year-old Satish Kumar to death on Friday.According to police sources, the man allegedly raped the 10-year-old girl by taking her to his house on the pretext of taking her to ‘Bhandara’ (where food is arranged) in the area.
The youth was accused of strangulating the girl to death after raping her and dumping her body in the forest.Police recovered the girl’s body on October 13. Police arrested the youth on the basis of a complaint filed by the girl’s mother. He was arrested within six hours of the girl’s body being recovered. Police said the man was married. The young man, a tailor by profession, had a problem with his wife. They live separately.
