Kolkata:On Tuesday midnight, the security personnel of Viswa-Bharati broke the stage of the sit-in by the students in front of the vice-chancellor’s residence. The students also alleged that they threatened to rape them.
Chaos prevailed at Viswa-Bharati University on Tuesday midnight. The security personnel of Visva-Bharati broke the stage in front of vice-chancellor Bidyut Chakraborty’s residence. The students alleged that they were beaten up by security personnel in an inebriated state. Security personnel even threatened to rape the students.
The students present at the spot alleged that they had given it. The students claimed that the incident took place in the presence of Ashok Mahato, acting registrar of Viswa-Bharati.Ashok, however, claimed that on Tuesday night, students went to the houses of professors and professors of Viswa-Bharati and threw bricks. That’s why the security personnel came and broke the stage in the middle of the night. Ashok also claimed that several stones were recovered from the teachers’ houses. However, a student present at the spot claimed that no such incident had taken place. No one threw bricks. Instead, the security personnel crossed the fence and started beating them up and broke the stage. Besides, the protesting students were abused in unspeakable language. He was also allegedly threatened with rape.
