Islamabad:The controversy erupted after audio tapes of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan having an “indecent conversation” with an unidentified woman went viral on several social media platforms. Journalists close to Pakistani media and Khan have claimed that “the male voice in the leaked audio is similar to that of the former prime minister.”
The audio was initially uploaded on his YouTube account by a Pakistani journalist named Syed Ali Haider and later it went viral on Facebook and Twitter. In the first audio, which the journalist claims to have recorded recently, a woman can be heard saying that she cannot come to meet Imran because she is “in pain in her body” that day, so she can meet him the next day if she can.
In another audio, Imran is heard questioning the woman rudely about her sexual desire. Another journalist, Mansoor Ali Khan, claimed in a Facebook video that he knew the anonymous woman in the leaked audio. However, he did not mention the woman’s name in the video on social media.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has refuted the claims of the two journalists .
