New Delhi: The Indian Army is all set to get a new missile along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh amid a face-off with the Chinese army. A decision in this regard is likely to be taken at a high-level meeting of the Defence Ministry this week, official sources said. The short-range ‘land-to-ground’ ballistic missile, called ‘Pralay’, can become an effective weapon of the Indian Army in the remote natural areas of the border, a defence ministry source said.

In August last year, the final round of testing of the deluge was conducted off the Coast of Chandipur in Odisha. Developed by scientists at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the missile has a range of 200 to 500 km.

DRDO’s ‘land-to-ground’ cruise missile is lighter than the ‘Pralay’ made in the shape of Prithvi. As a result, it is easier to use. Apart from this, this ballistic missile of advanced technology is capable of changing the course in mid-air. As a result, the disaster can hit a specific target by avoiding the interceptor missile of the enemy.
