New Delhi: Breast milk now easily available in the country’s market! Yes, although it may sound difficult to hear, two companies in the country have started marketing breast milk. Breast milk is now available in a 15mm bottle. It is also not necessary to store such milk in the freezer. Such initiatives are being taken for children who are not able to access breast milk. Two private profitable companies with patented technologies are processing and selling human milk in India. Bengaluru-based Neolecta Lifesciences Pvt Ltd started this work in 2016.
The company has been demanding to procure milk from lactating mothers who are willing to donate voluntarily. This milk has since been pasteurized and sold for the baby at a reasonable price. The company is offering human milk fortifiers in powder form. Started in 2021, Mohali-based Naslak Biosciences Private Limited has also been converting mother’s milk into powder form before selling it at exorbitant prices.
