FM Coverage of AIR to increase to cover more than 80 per cent of the population

New Delhi:All India Radio and Doordarshan are now almost dead for private TV channels and FMs. Recently, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the central sector scheme “Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development” to be implemented at a cost of Rs. 2,539.61 crore for the development of infrastructure of Prasar Bharati i.e. All India Radio and Doordarshan.

This “Broadcast Infrastructure and Network Development” scheme of the Ministry is an ambitious project to provide financial assistance to Prasar Bharati for infrastructure related expenses, content creation and expansion of the organization as well as promotion of broadcast to civil servants.
