New Delhi:Joshimath is gradually ‘sitting down’. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the residents of Joshi math to be taken to a safer place immediately. The Uttarakhand chief minister has also ordered setting up of a major temporary rehabilitation centre. Pushkar Dhami held a high-level meeting in this regard on Friday. He also expressed concern over the cracks in hundreds of houses in joshimath area.
More than 500 houses in Joshimath, located in the Garhwal region of Himachal, have developed cracks. The temple collapsed. Asia’s longest ropeway has been closed to tourists. Two hotels have been completely closed. For now, the affected families have been directed to be shifted to safer places.
