Guwahati: For the purpose of popularizing and dissemination of knowledge pertaining to tradition and culture of Goalpara, Namani Assam Mahotsav was organised at Kacharighat of Goalpara Town. The ten days long festival that began from 4th of January primarily focussed on discussions pertaining to the tradition and culture, rock sculpture, ancient history and language and literature.
In this festival itself, that was organised for the first time, Pranjit Das was bestowed with Excellent Youth Journalist Award. On the 7th day of the festival, 10 luminary individuals of Assam from different sectors were also bestowed with awards.
