Snowfall begins in Shimla to delight tourists

New Delhi:The snow has melted the dry sheets in Shimla. Snowfall has started in Shimla, himachal Pradesh’s main city. Thousands of tourists from across the country and abroad have thronged Shimla during the first snowfall of the year. At the same time, the administration has closed 200 roads in Shimla as a precautionary measure. It is also learnt that many tourists have suffered as a result.


The light snowfall has brought cheer to the tourists in Shimla. The remote Dodra Kowara subdivision of Shimla district has been cut off from the rest of the state due to snowfall. As many as 177 ports are reportedly trapped in Lahaul and Spiti. Five in Chamba, and two each in Kangra and Kullu have been closed for vehicular traffic. Shimla, Kangra, Kullu, Chamba and parts of Lahaul and Spiti districts have received light snowfall.
