Republic Day Online Chess Tournament ,Suhan Pati Clinched the Title

Guwahati : Suhan Pati clinched the title in Republic Day Online Chess Tournament organized by Guwahati Chess Academy on the occasion of 74th Republic Day on 26th January, 2023. Suhan scored 5 points from 6 rounds to clinched the title. Tiberia D also scored 5 points from same number of rounds but she was declared second on the basis of tie-break score. Swapnil Kar got third position by scoring 4.5 points from same number of rounds. Emil Borgohain and Jayraj Barman both scored 4 points each placed fourth and fifth respectively according to their tie-break score.


Mrinmoyee Dhar scored 3.5 points and was adjudged best girl of the tournament. Navishta Hazarika got second position in Girl’s category. Mayank Goswami got first position in under-15 category. He scored 4 points. Jyon Jyotishman Saikia got second position by scoring 3 points. Paryush Pathak scored 2 points and got third position in this category.Hrishik Das got first position in under-13 category by scoring 2.5 points. Atharva Mahanta scored 2.5 points and got first position in under-11 category. Jishuraj Nayan Kalita got second position in this category by scoring 2 points. Aahlad Garg Acharya got third position by scoring 1 point. Deyan Thakuria scored 3 points and got first position in under-9 category. Monodeep Dhar and Hridanka Jyoti Pathak also scored 3 points each and declared second and third on the basis of tie-break score.
Hreyansh Deka got first position in under-7 category by scoring 2.5 points. The tournament conducted in online chess playing platform Chess.com for 6 rounds in Swiss league system. Autographer 29 players from different parts of Assam participated in the tournament. Fide Arbiter Pranab Kumar Nath conducted the tournament as Chief Arbiter.
