New Delhi:After a Muslim friend of her sent a message to a Hindu girl on her mobile phone, the rumours of a Muslim youth being brutally beaten up by a section of Hindutva outfits have evoked strong reactions. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh. Hours after a video of a college student being brutally beaten up by a group of members of an organisation in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, on January 18 this year, police arrested several people and registered a case in connection with the incident.
The video is actually 15 days old and the police were informed about it in advance. However, the police did not take any action against those who attacked the Muslim youth till the matter went viral through social media. In the viral video, a group of people can be seen beating up a Muslim youth named Shahbaz Khan in the parking lot of a shopping complex in Khandwa on January 3. The attackers have been identified as members of Hindu Jagran Manch and Hindu Chhatra Sena.
