New Delhi:There has been a controversy over the appointment of judges through the Supreme Court collegium for the last few months. In the midst of this conflict, the Center has said that the Supreme Court is going to get five new judges soon. On behalf of the Centre, the Attorney General has given the names of three Chief Justices of the High Court to the apex court. Two high court judges have also been named for the post.
A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and A S Oka was told by the Attorney General on Friday that the matter is likely to be settled by Sunday this week. The three Chief Justices of the High Court are Justice Pankaj Mithal of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice Sanjay Karol of the Patna High Court and the Manipur High Court.
