Islamic cleric says actress Swara Bhaskar’s marriage with Fahad Ahmad is illegal as per Quran

New Delhi: On February 16, Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker announced that she was married to Samajwadi Party leader Fahadh Ahmad. Soon wishes started pouring in from Swara’s followers and well-wishers.

However, Mufti Yasir Nadeem al-Wajidi, an Islamic cleric based in Chicago, has condemned the marriage of Swara and Fahad as “Islamically illegal”. According to the Islamic cleric, Swara Bhaskar is a ‘polygynous woman’. Al-Wajidi wants to establish his claim on the basis of a verse from the Quran.
