Guwahati: Guwahati’s thrilling double murder is a testimony to how terrible the lust for wealth can take. Vandana Kalita, along with her illicit lover and boyfriend’s friend, killed her husband and mother-in-law. After the murder, the body was chopped into pieces and kept in the fridge for three days. This incident has shaken the entire state.
According to sources, the incident took place seven months ago. Vandana Kalita was married to Amarjyoti Dey, a resident of Narengi in the city a few years ago. The two were in good shape for a few days after the wedding. But the ambitious and extremely greedy Vandana developed an illicit love affair with a young man named Dhanjit Deka. A clash broke out between the two after the husband came to know about this.
There were five buildings in sanmari area of the city in the name of Amarjyoti’s mother Shankari Dey. The mother lived alone in one of these buildings. The other four buildings were collected by Amarjyoti’s maternal uncle. Vandana was upset about it. And later vandana’s divorce with Amarjyoti was also in the process. But seven months ago, Vandana had lodged an FIR at nunmati police station alleging that her husband and mother-in-law were missing.
