New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday protested against the rape of a BSF constable by a colleague. Party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh took to Twitter to make the matter public. What is the BJP’s take on such a shocking incident at a BSF camp under the Home Ministry? Kunal Ghosh raised this question.
But what exactly is the case? On February 18, a woman constable was allegedly raped at a BSF camp in Krishnagunj police station area of Nadia. The victim was first taken to a local hospital. When her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to SSKM Hospital for treatment.
Doctors at SSKM told the victim’s family to lodge a complaint with the police. Some BSF officials came to Bhabanipur police station with the victim. The woman constable filed a written complaint. A case was filed with Bhabanipur police station under section 367/2(c) of the Indian Penal Code. It has been sent to Krishnaganj police station with zero FIR. The BSF said it was conducting a departmental inquiry into the matter. The accused company commander (inspector rank) has already been suspended. Tmc spokesperson Kunal Ghosh questioned the incident. What is the BJP saying now? His question.
